I thought it was very important to make a blog about this topic, because it really is so pertinent for couples planning their weddings to choose the right vendors. Your wedding photographer is the only vendor, if not one of the only vendors, that will be with you the entirety of your day. Here are what I consider to be the most important things when choosing your dream wedding photographer:

1. Their style. There really is no right or wrong answer when it comes to what photography style you like best. For me, my photography style is documentary and editorial. You have to remember that trends come and go, and that’s why I try to edit your photos in a natural way. I don’t over-edit because I want you to still love your photos when you’re dancing at your 50th wedding anniversary party 🙂
2. Their vibe and personality. Make sure you follow the photographers you’re inquiring with on instagram and other socials! You can learn alot about the process of photographers, and their personalities when peaking into how they show up on social media. And once you inquire, any quality photographer who actually cares about your day will set up a consultation call prior to your booking. I always always always make sure I jump on a call with potential clients to make sure we’re a good fit. Again, I am with you all day. I want to make sure we get along!
3. Package Building. Just like how no two couples are alike, no two weddings are alike. It’s important for your photographer to truly understand what is needed during your day, so that they are able to build packages and set expectations prior to booking.
4. Full Wedding Galleries. I genuinely think it is in every couples best interest to request a full wedding (or similar) sample gallery. I always send my couples 2-3 sample galleries prior to booking, so they can see a full gallery from me and set their own expectations!
