This past weekend, I photographed a wedding in the Hampton Bays on Long Island, New York. I absolutely love backyard weddings, and this one was super sentimental and special. The newlyweds held their ceremony down the road from the bride’s parents house, at a dock overlooking the Shinnecock Bay. This ceremony was truly so beautiful, the arch was handmade with a flowy white drape and some gorgeous white and green florals. After the ceremony, I actually drove the bride and groom back to their parents house where the cocktail hour and reception were being held.
I love all weddings and all the special touches couples add onto their days, however, I love backyard weddings because they are always so much more deep rooted in love and sentimentality than the average wedding. They are usually held at a home or property that is close to the couples hearts, and where there are so many other memories that have already been made. Being able to get married and have a wedding with your future husband or wife in the same home you grew up in is so special and it just makes my heart burst thinking about it. I loved this weekend so much!
